Star News: Pair shares death row stories after being freed

Two of America’s 138 death row exonerees, Delbert Tibbs and Gary Drinkard, spoke before 100 people in Wilmington on one of eight stops of a tour through Eastern North Carolina hosted by People of Faith Against the Death Penalty (PFADP).  The pair answered questions and told of their experiences with biased all-white juries and police bribed witnesses and how they ultimately managed to overcome judicial miscarriage.  Both men have turned their adverse experiences on death row into opportunities to “bring awareness of injustices with the capital punishment system to others.”
